Gareth is the founder of Beyond Noise, a specialist strategy consultancy working exclusively with the owner directors of independent marketing agencies.
In this session, Gareth shares some of the lessons and insights he gained from 15 years scaling his business to become one of the largest independent regional agencies in the UK. Buying what was then a family-run design agency in 2002, Gareth and his partners grew it into a fully integrated offer with revenues in excess of £12.5M and a team of 175 working with some of the biggest names in UK retail. Having successfully exited his agency, Gareth will be reflecting on what he believes were some of the secrets of their success, as well as highlighting some lessons he learnt along the way.
Join Gareth at this session and use some of his experience to capitalise on your opportunities and avoid some of the pitfalls of scaling your digital agency.
I’ve spoken to many owners of independent marketing agencies over my 24 year career, and proportionally far more in the last two years since I exited my own agency. One of the most frequent topics of discussion is exit planning and how to get maximum value when selling your agency.
Gareth has spent the majority of his 24 year career in the marketing agency sector, and for 15 years was partner and CEO of a £12.5M, 175 person, integrated agency based in Leeds and London. Since successfully exiting his agency in 2017, Gareth has been spending his time mentoring other agency owners and select tech startups in his consultancy Beyond Noise. An angel investor, he was 1 of 4 finalists for the coveted “Mentor of the Year” award at this year’s National Mentoring Awards.
